We begin with a practical "How to Study" section, where Zoé shares tips to help you approach biophysics and optics with confidence. With her guidance, you’ll learn how to navigate through the material effectively, making the complex topics easier to understand.
This book covers 49 essential lecture topics in biophysics and optics, from wave optics to light-matter interactions, and the real-world applications of optical technologies. Please note that while this book provides a solid theoretical foundation, it does not cover laboratory topics.
Throughout the book, you’ll find questions that are specifically designed to reinforce the most important concepts. These questions focus on the material that is most commonly tested in exams, helping you strengthen your knowledge and improve your exam preparation.
We’ve made sure to highlight the information you need to know to succeed. With this focused approach, you’ll be able to concentrate on the most critical concepts, giving you the confidence to tackle any challenge.
We explain important formulas in detail, ensuring you understand both the theory and how to apply them practically. By the end, you’ll be able to confidently work with formulas in both academic and real-world contexts.
Thanks to the amazing work of Tran Phuong Linh and Öykü Öztürkoğlu, we’ve included high-quality illustrations that make complex biophysical processes and optical phenomena more accessible. These visuals will help you visualize the material, making it easier to understand.
This book is the result of a collaborative effort, with Zoé’s expert insights, Betül’s teaching expertise, and the fantastic illustrations from Linh and Öykü. With clear explanations, practical study tips, and stunning visuals, we’ve created a resource that will help you confidently navigate the fascinating world of optics and biophysics.
